Homes or very small businesses looking for an upgrade to their office should consider the HP OfficeJet J6488. This thermal inkjet is an all-in-one device that can handle anyone's printing, copying, faxing and scanning needs at impressive speeds and with impressive quality. It can connect wirelessly, with an ethernet cord or with a USB. It can be used in conjunction with Windows or Mac operating systems effortlessly, and its setup is a simple process that will have buyers printing in no time. The monthly duty cycle is around 5,000 pages, and it can print on multiple types of paper like inkjet, photo and brochure—to name a few. All of this is quite affordable, with the unit costing right around $200, and the price of HP J6488 ink isn't too pricey either.

This all in one is a printer at heart, and only needs two HP J6488 ink cartridges for most print jobs. These tanks hold black and tricolor printer ink, and this ink is very easy to find. Using only the black OfficeJet J6488 ink, a resolution of 1200 dpi can be obtained, and with color the resolution can be as high as 4800x1200 dpi.

With the help of the black HP J6488 ink, around 31 pages per minute can be copied or printed. Color, however, can only create around 24 pages per minute. For units this size, the speed is quite reasonable.

Although only the black and color printer ink tanks are needed, two photo Officejet J6488 ink cartridges are optional for pictures—photo color and photo black. These tanks won't last buyers long, though, and will likely have users running back and forth to the store more often than they'd like for replacements.

The low yielding ink shouldn't deter potential buyers, though; the excellence created by these tanks is well worth it.
