The HP Officejet H470 ink printer is pitched as a mobile printing machine; it is a base model of its series and costs around $225. The device is a relatively expensive one as you can get MFDs for this price range. This compact device measures 13.4 x 6.5 x 3.2 in and weighs a mere 4.6 lbs. It is rugged and built to withstand the rigors of traveling. The machine can be run on batteries; however, these have to be purchased separately. The H470wbt, which retails for around $315 comes with an external lithium-ion battery, Bluetooth printer adapter, and protective case.

The HP H470 inkjet cartridge device is rated at 22 ppm for monochrome and 18 ppm for color prints. It offers print resolutions of up to 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi for monochrome and 4800 dpi x 1200 dpi for color prints. The text prints are clear, particularly at lower print speeds. The HP H470 inkjet cartridge device uses a 4-color scheme with optional 6-color printing for photographs. The machine uses the HP 94 Black and HP 97 Tricolor ink cartridges. The former yields 480 pages while the Tricolor tank is rated at 560 pages.

The Officejet H470 connects via USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can be availed optionally. It has a duty cycle of 500 sheets; the 50-sheet input tray can be folded. Two-sided printing is to be done manually. You can print on labels, envelopes, cards, photo paper, plain paper, greeting cards, and transparencies. PictBridge support means you can print without powering on the PC. Media card support extends to MultiMediaCard and SD Memory Card. Given that this is a mobile printer, one would expect more support for external media devices. You can print from notebooks, PDAs and other devices using this PC and Mac compatible printer.
