HP F4140 Printer Review

The HP Deskjet F4140 is an all-in-one unit with printing, scanning and copying capabilities. Compatible with Mac and Windows operating systems, this unit must connect via USB. Though this inkjet unit may not have the fastest speeds available, its high resolutions may make up for the slower-than-standard speeds. Weighing a meek 9.39 pounds, this model is somewhat portable, and its dimensions of 7.11x16.76x10.53 inches make a small enough footprint that the F4140 will be able to fit in most desk spaces.

Only two HP F4140 ink cartridges are required in this model. One is a tricolor printer ink, and the other is black. The tricolor Deskjet F4140 ink cartridges yields either 165 pages or 400 pages, depending on the consumers preference of either high or low capacity. The black ink has a yield of 190 pages. A third, optional photo HP F4140 ink tank is available for purchase, and it can yield 140 pages. To use this special photo ink, the black tank will need to be removed because 2 tanks is the maximum capacity.

These printer ink tanks exert exceptional quality. A resolution of 1200X2400 dpi can be obtained while printing or scanning documents when HP F4140 ink is used. When using black ink up to 20 pages per minute can be printed, and using color, 14 pages per minute can be printed. Many units, however, can print and copy at much faster speeds than this. No matter the speed, the HP F4140 is compatible with most papers— plain, inkjet, envelope, transparency, label, photo and card papers all work in conjunction with the model.

Consumer reviews are fairly positive for the F4140. Most comment on its reliability and high quality of images and documents produced by the machine. The majority hasn't had problems using the unit and say set up was easy as well. The low cost of Deskjet F4140 ink is another pro when considering this machine. The only real complaint was problems in printing labels. All in all, this all could be a steal.
