The HP ENVY 5646 e-All-in-One inkjet printer is built for both standard printing and excellent lab-quality photos, yet it's priced to appeal to home users and families. Wireless networking support makes for easy setup, and ISO speeds are rated at 12 pages per minute in black and 8 pages per minute in color. With multiple capacities of HP 5646 printer ink supplies available, buyers have more options than usual.

The design of the 5646 is sleek and matte black, with a nice touchscreen interface for control, though it is a bit on the small side, at only 2.65 inches diagonally. It does an adequate job of controlling the print, scan, and copy functions of the device, however. With a height of 6.3 inches, it has a very low profile, and its footprint is only 17.8x16.1 inches, so it won't take up too much desktop space either. It also weighs just 15 pounds, even including the two ENVY 5646 printer ink supplies.

It wasn't all that long ago that high-quality photo printing in the home was a luxury. To have it included in such an affordable device as the HP 5646 along with scanning and copying capabilities makes it an excellent value, and additional features like mobile printing make it even more so.
