HP 3526 Printer Review

The HP Deskjet 3526 e-All-in-One inkjet printer can handle photo and document printing as well as basic copying and scanning. It has a very compact, space-saving design, but this causes a few limitations as well, such as a small paper capacity. Wireless connectivity is included, and HP 3526 printer ink supplies are quite affordable, making it a good value for home users with small budgets.

The 3526 is an easy fit on a desktop surface, measuring 5.8x17.2x12.8 inches, and it weighs just 11 pounds, even with the Deskjet 3526 ink installed. It has a single USB port in the rear for connecting to a PC, and it supports wireless networking as well. An ethernet port is lacking, however, so users with a wired network will be disappointed. Mobile printing is also supported via Apple AirPrint and HP's ePrint platform.

For such a small design and a low price, a few things were sacrificed, however. In addition to limited connection options, the unit only holds up to 80 sheets at a time. This could really be a problem for busy users, though it is probably enough for the average home user. The control panel is also fairly sparse, so users will have to rely heavily on a PC for most operations.

The inkjet system utilizes individual HP 3526 printer ink cartridges of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. There are also XL versions of Deskjet 3526 ink cartridges, which have yields of 750 pages for each color and 550 pages for black. Buyers on a budget should consider the savings of using remanufactured HP 3526 ink instead of OEM versions.

The HP 3526 doesn't have the capacity or speed for handling large, fast-paced tasks. For the home user with light-duty needs, however, it can keep up quite nicely, and its wireless connection options are particularly convenient for sharing.
