With a fairly hefty price tag, the HP Designjet T1500 large format inkjet printer will only appeal to the serious business user, but it is an impressive entry in its class. It can handle media up to 36 inches wide, and holds up to two rolls. Buyers will need to budget for the cost of replacing six separate HP T1500 printer ink supplies, however, as this could get costly.

The T1500 can output an A1/D-sized print in around 21 seconds, and it supports an optimized resolution of 2400x1200 dpi. Along with support for two rolls of media, it also has an output stacking tray so that it can catch and collate prints. The unit measures 43.7x55.1x36.1 inches, and weighs a very hefty 194 pounds, which includes the Designjet T1500 printer ink supplies.

Users have a bevy of options when it comes to connections. It includes a standard USB port for those who prefer a direct connection, and a Gigabit ethernet port for fast networking. The ePrint platform also allows for remote printing and mobile printing from smartphones, tablets, and other devices. Users can even save projects to the cloud with HP's ePrint & Share option.

Although the individual HP T1500 ink cartridges aren't particularly pricey, having to replace all six will make a serious dent in the budget. High-capacity Designjet T1500 ink cartridges are available for those who don't mind spending a little more upfront to have a lower cost per page overall.

For a large format inkjet model, the T1500 is still on the high end of pricing for its class. Those who can do without the extras like mobile printing can find more affordable options, though the cost of HP T1500 ink may be lower than some competing models.
