For under $150, this device has many quality functions like a good black text resolution and excellent picture and graphic documents. Another unique and useful feature is the D5463's ability to print on CD/DVD media and produce exceptional results.

This inkjet model has an additional pigment-based black HP D5463 ink cartridge designed specifically for printing text documents, which were tested to have an acceptable maximum resolution of 600x600 dpi. Its 5-color HP D5463 ink system also includes a tricolor tank of cyan, magenta and yellow, which create quality photos and graphics with a high resolution of 9600x2400 dpi. One of each HP D5463 ink tank comes in the box at standard size, although higher-capacity versions are available for consumers looking to produce larger volumes. The option for higher-yield Photosmart D5463 ink cartridges is convenient and inexpensive for users because they last 750 pages while standard tanks only last 300.

Printing speeds for black Photosmart D5463 ink at 11.5 pages per minute is on the slower end and is a reason this inkjet device only has a capacity for low-volume work rates. Color tanks of printer ink produce sluggish rates as well, turning out only 9.2 pages per minute.

The D5463 has a few great features like quality ink resolutions, a dedicated 20-sheet photo tray that helps user convenience when printing photos and CD and DVD printing capabilities.
