HP D5360 Printer Review

The HP Photosmart D5360 ink printer is a standalone device that costs approximately $100. The machine delivers good print speeds, is not an ink hog, has a fair mix of features and can be useful to those with occasional print requirements. At the same time, it is worth mentioning that you can get MFDs for the same price or slightly more. The machine dimensions are 18 x 18.6 x 7.2 in and it weighs 12.6 lbs. A 1.5-inch preview screen comes in handy when printing directly from memory cards. However, edits to the digital images can only be done from the PC and there is no support for PictBridge, which means you cannot print directly from a camera.

The HP D5360 ink cartridge machine offers print speeds of up to 32 ppm and 24 ppm for monochrome and color prints, respectively. Maximum print resolutions achieved are 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi for monochrome and 4800 dpi x 1200 dpi for color. The HP D5360 inkjet cartridge uses two ink tanks – the HP 75 Black and HP 75 tricolor cartridges. A photo ink cartridge can be used in place of the black ink when you wish to avail 6-color prints.

The machine has an input feed capacity of 125 sheets. Inbuilt duplexing and CD / DVD printing are two useful features not commonly found in low-end printers. The Photosmart D5360 offers good quality photo prints, particularly on special photo paper. Text prints are strictly okay. Slots for media cards can hold Memory Stick, MultiMediaCard, SD Memory Card, xD-Picture Card, Memory Stick Duo, and CompactFlash Card. You can print on cards, envelopes, photo paper, plain paper, labels, and transparencies. Borderless printing is supported on media size up to 8.5 in x 24 in. Connectivity is via a USB port.

A monthly duty cycle of 3000 sheets, PC and Mac compatibility, and good quality photo prints place the HP Photosmart D5360 inkjet machine as a decent printer for home use or for use in a small office.
