With color ink, 23 pages per minute can be created, and the highest resolution possible is 4800x1200 dpi. Using the black HP D4280 ink cartridge, the resolutions won't get higher than 1200x1200 dpi.
Most medias work well with this printer and its HP D4280 ink prints with high quality on them. Plain paper, envelopes, inkjet paper, photo paper, labels, transparencies, cards, borderless media and iron-on transfers all work in conjunction with the D4280, and most standard sizes of these are supported too.
Reviews of the Deskjet D4280 are fairly mixed. Experts of CNet find it to be impressive and inexpensive. They like its fast print speeds and high quality of text and graphic prints. CNet found that the D4280 needed help when it came to photo quality. Users complain that the Deskjet D4280 ink cartridges run out way to quick and that it is not worth the price spent on printer ink. Problems printing envelopes and paper jams were other common complaints.
