Not only does this multifunction inkjet unit print in color, but it can scan and copy documents as well. It only weighs 12 pounds, and it has dimensions of 17.4x11.4x6.4 inches making it easy to move around and very easy to store. The C4140 connects via USB, and it has 4 memory card slots for quick and simple direct printing. A black and a tricolor HP C4140 ink cartridge are the only tanks needed.

The flatbed scanner can reach an impressive enhanced resolution of 19200 dpi, and its standard resolution is 2400x4800 dpi, which will surely please consumers. It also has a 48-bit color depth. The copier can duplicate up to 50 copies from an original, and it can enhance or enlarge images 50-400%. Using black Photosmart C4140 ink, the copier can obtain a resolution of 1200 dpi. With color printer ink, though, the copier has the ability to reach resolutions of 4800x1200 dpi.

The printing feature produces the same high quality resolutions as the copier with black and color HP C4140 ink. Using black and color ink, 34 pages per minute and 24 pages per minute can be produced, respectively. These speeds pertain to printing and copying alike.

While only the two Photosmart C4140 ink cartridges are needed, two are optional as well. These optional printer ink tanks are photo gray and photo color, which yield 80 pages and 130 pages, respectively. The black HP C4140 ink tank yields 420 pages, and the color yields 220 pages. These tanks won't last very long, which could become frustrating, but they will produce very high quality—which is the main thing most are looking for in their inkjet unit.
