The HP Photosmart C3180 is a compact, thermal inkjet unit that can handle almost anything. It is the perfect addition to a home or small office with its printing, scanning and copying functions. For those wanting to create photos that are not only high quality but can last a lifetime, the C3180 has everything to make that happen. It even offers an optional photo HP C3180 ink cartridge to add even higher quality to photos. It weighs only 16.9 pounds, and it has a small frame of 6.4x17.1x15 inches, which will make it very easy to fit nearly anywhere. It also has the ability to crank out 3,000 pages a month.

Although this inkjet unit can print, scan and copy with the help of Photosmart C3180 ink, it does lack one aspect many all in ones offer—faxing. However, for many users, faxing isn't a necessity in the home. The scanner can turn scanned text into editable text and it can even scan images up to 8.5x11 inches. For vivid scans and quality images, it has a 48-bit color scale and 8-bit color grayscale that will surely blow some competition out of the water.

Two standard Photosmart C3180 ink cartridges are needed for this unit. One tank is filled with black printer ink and the other is filled with color. Using the black HP C3180 ink, resolutions of up to 1200x1200 dpi can be obtained, while the color printer ink prints with resolutions of 4800x1200 dpi. The black and color HP C3180 ink tanks yield 220 pages each, and are easy to find and easy to use. The third photo tank only yields 130 pages, but it is optional and many will find it to be an unnecessary added expense. All in all, the HP C3180 is an affordable unit that will achieve a lot of success.
