The HP Photosmart C3140 inkjet unit seems to be a crowd favorite. Windows and Mac compatible, it will easily setup and begin printing. It connects via USB, and this thermal inkjet device can even produce up to 3,000 pages per month. Created with home users in mind, this unit will not only meet needs, but will exceed them. Need to print on transparencies for school projects or envelopes for a birthday card? The C3140 has those documents covered, and it can print on iron-on transfers, labels, photo paper and plain paper as well. The inexpensive upfront cost and low prices of HP C3140 ink only make this all in one more attractive.

A black and a tricolor HP C3140 ink cartridge are needed for standard printing, and an optional printer ink tank is available for photo printing as well. The black, tricolor and photo HP C3140 ink tanks have yields of 220 pages, 220 pages and 130 pages, respectively. These tanks won't last too long, so those printing a lot of documents per month might find themselves spending more money on ink than they'd like. The best way to own this printer and keep costs affordable is to buy remanufactured versions of the Photosmart C3140 ink from third party vendors. Surprisingly these tanks yield the same amount of pages for a significantly smaller price. These tanks even create the same high resolutions, meaning that there is literally no difference in quality—only a difference in price.

Consumers rave about the high quality and great results of the C3140. They find the quality produced for the low price spent to be excellent, and most haven't had any problems whatsoever with this thermal unit. The only complaint is that the Photosmart C3140 ink cartridges tend to have high printer ink consumption, but other than that, this printer seems to be quite a steal.
