HP B8338 Printer Review

The HP Photosmart B8338 is an inkjet printer that is ready to go when users are. A mobile printer at its heart, nearly anyone will be able to move the unit around when needed, and it is compatible with a range of operating systems so many buyers will easily be able to use it.

Operating at speeds of 30 pages per minute for black-and-white documents and 20 pages per minute for color, users will hardly find themselves waiting for a document to be produced, and the 5,000 pages monthly duty cycle makes it possible for it to keep up with offices and sometimes exceed the needs of users. Many different media types are supported by the B8338 too, like transparencies, plain paper, cards, envelopes and labels. The input tray can hold up to 150 sheets of these at a time.

Four different HP B8338 ink cartridges are used for printing. These are filled with tricolor, black, photo color and photo gray printer ink. The black Photosmart B8338 ink and the tricolor tank both come in two sizes—standard and high capacity. The standard capacity black printer ink lasts 480 pages, while the high capacity will last 860 pages before needing replaced. The tricolor HP B8338 ink will last 330 pages and 560 pages for standard and high capacity, respectively.

What do the other two Photosmart B8338 ink cartridges used inside—photo color and photo gray—do? They help make graphics and photos look more realistic and true-to-life than they would if a standard tricolor HP B8338 ink tank were being used.

While the price tag on the OEM HP B8338 ink may seem a little overwhelming, don't get caught up on that—remanufactured ink is available from third party vendors which lasts just as long and works just as good as the OEM ink.
