New Compatible HP CF280X Toner Cartridge Instructions

This video covers the new compatible CF280X toner cartridge, including installation instructions. It replaces the original OEM HP CF280X cartridge.

New Compatible HP CF280X Toner Cartridge Transcript

The CF280X toner cartridge is the high-capacity replacement for the similar CF280A cartridge. It offers a larger estimated yield of 6,900 pages, based on an average of 5% page coverage. Its width of 13.4 inches and light weight of 2.8 pounds make it easy to store and to install, and it is more cost-effective than the standard supply.

When you receive your CF280X cartridge, first remove it from the box and the packing materials. Carefully open and remove the plastic bag, then rock the cartridge back and forth 5 to 6 times. This will loosen the toner powder.

Find and remove the black paper that protects the drum by pulling it straight out. Pull the loop of packing tape straight out of the cartridge to remove it as well.

On the top of the printer, locate and press the toner button to release the access panel, then lower it down. Find the handle on the HP CF280X toner cartridge and pull it toward you to remove it.

Slide the new compatible CF280X cartridge into the opening, ensuring it is aligned with the guide rails. Press on the cartridge to make sure it is firmly in place, then close the access panel. You are now ready to resume printing.

The CF280X cartridge is compatible with models in the M400 series. This includes popular models such as the M401dn and M401dw, as well as variations in the M425 series, such as the M425dn and M425dw.
