The HP OfficeJet 7413 is an all-in-one inkjet that is heavy on features, with printing, scanning, faxing, and copying functions, but it also has a hefty price tag. It is quick, with rated print speeds of up to 30 pages per minute, and HP 7413 printer ink isn't too expensive, but third-party options are more affordable.

The 7413 is a bit larger than most all-in-one inkjet models, with dimensions of 11.4x17.2x21.6 inches. It weighs less than 27 pounds, even including the light weight of the OfficeJet 7413 ink supplies. Input options abound. Both wired and wireless networking is supported right out of the box and a standard USB port as well. A front-mounted USB/PictBridge port can connect flash drives or digital cameras for PC-less printing, and memory card readers are included as well.

Despite the fact that the 7413 can handle most of its tasks without a computer, the HP Director software can help users delve even deeper into its many features, and the Gallery software helps users manage and view their files easily. The top tray holds up to 150 sheets, and a second holds up to 250 sheets, so each can be loaded with a different type or size of media.

Luckily, the trend of the unit's high purchase price doesn't extend to the HP 7413 ink cartridges. Prices are fairly reasonable for the OEM OfficeJet 7413 ink cartridges, but users still might want to consider seeking out remanufactured HP 7413 printer ink for much lower operating costs.

The OfficeJet 7413 goes way beyond what is expected from most all-in-one inkjet models and into serious office machine territory. Its dual trays and networking support could be a blessing for a small office, but its purchase price could be an issue for some buyers.
