HP 7208 Printer Review

With strong faxing, printing, copying, and scanning functions in an affordable and mostly compact design, the HP OfficeJet 7208 all-in-one inkjet is a good value for home users or even a small office on a budget. Rated speeds of 20 ppm for color and 30 ppm for black drop off fast at higher quality settings, but cost-effective HP 7208 printer ink helps to make up for some of its shortcomings.

The fax function features a transmission speed of up to 33.6 Kbps for around 3 seconds per page, with speed dial settings and 5 keys for one-touch dialing of favorite numbers. It can even store up to 130 pages in memory, which is useful for saving important faxes when the device runs out of paper or OfficeJet 7208 ink.

With a combination of a 4800 dpi optimized image resolution and Vivera HP 7208 printer ink, the unit can produce very detailed photos that are very resistant to fading. Users can import photos by scanning them at optical resolutions of up to 2400 dpi, or by using the memory card slots and USB PictBridge port on the front of the machine.

The standard HP 7208 ink cartridges have capacities of up to 330 pages for tricolor and 480 pages for black. For a lower cost per page, high-capacity OfficeJet 7208 ink cartridges can provide up to 560 pages for tricolor and 860 for black. Optional "photo color" and "photo gray" supplies can also be used to enhance photo quality.

The OfficeJet 7208 seems to tilt more in favor of its office features, which are very strong, but it still offers a solid experience when handling photos and images. Though it's not the fastest or most affordable in its category, it is a good value for home and small office use.
