Need a fast printer? Well, look no further than the HP OfficeJet 6500 inkjet unit. It has print and copy speeds of 32 pages per minute using a black HP 6500 ink cartridge and 31 pages per minute using color printer ink. Not only is the 6500 compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux, but it weighs only 17.75 pounds. It is a lot like the 6000, but the updated version is a little more expensive, costing around $150-$200.

With a duty cycle of 7000 pages, most paper sizes standard of a unit of this size are supported - statement, executive, letter, legal, 3x5, 4x6, 5x7, 5x8, 4x10, 4x11, 4x12, 8x10 and envelope. Though the HP 6500 inkjet printer doesn't have wireless capabilities, it does have USB and ethernet connection capabilities. Its dimensions are 18.7x16.1x10.2 inches.

A resolution of up to 4800x1200dpi is available for prints using color HP 6500 ink cartridges. For black printer ink, the resolution is 600x600dpi. These resolutions are not bad in comparison to other HP ink, such as HP 60XL Black ink. Four HP 6500 ink cartridges come in the box, and all of these can be replaced individually. The price tag on the OfficeJet 6500 ink isn't too high, but the unit is known for eating printer ink at a rapid rate. This could become expensive quick.

Consumers, for the most part, would recommend this product to others. According to users, the software is easy to install and the colors produced are vivid. Many say the quality is amazing and that the speed is quite impressive. One user particularly likes a new feature on the unit that lets users know when the paper had been fed correctly. A few consumers regret their decision to buy this unit. Paper jams seem to be a real issue, as well as the high consumption of HP 6500 ink. Many complain that the speeds of the 6500 are slow and the scanner is awful. With this one, one might have to purchase it to find out whether or not it's a quality product.
