HP 570 Printer Review

The HP OfficeJet 570 is an all-in-one inkjet printer designed for homes or small offices. However, due to the low capacity of prints it is equipped to handle, it may end up slowing people down at work rather than adding efficiency. At home, though, most people do not require a lot of printing, just standard school projects or digital photos.

Using drop-on-demand printing technology, small dots of HP 570 ink are ejected through nozzles onto the page. These dots are layered to form more crisp and clear text and images. The OfficeJet 570 ink drops for resolutions, or dpi. The color printer ink can reach a resolution of 300x300 dpi, while the black can get up to 600x600 dpi.

Connected only by parallel port, this unit can print on various types of paper, such as plain, photo and inkjet. It can also print on different media types including envelopes, labels, index cards and transparencies. This unit has a 150 sheet input tray that can also hold 10 envelopes and 50 greeting cards.

Using the black HP 570 ink, about 5 pages per minute can be printed, while the color can only produce about 3 pages per minute. The black and color OfficeJet 570 ink cartridges can yield 720 and 350 pages, respectively. Though these yields are not very high, for low-volume users the printer ink tanks will still last for months. Replacement HP 570 ink cartridges are available from the manufacturer or from third party vendors. They can be found in new, remanufactured or compatible versions.

There are plenty of printers that produce prints with good quality. Not all of them have the ability to send faxes, make copies and scan documents, though. The HP OfficeJet 570 offers all of these functions at an affordable price.
