The HP Photosmart 5511 e-All-in-One color inkjet printer borrows heavily from the design of modern tablets and smartphones, with a touch-screen interface and even an integrated web browser. The result is an affordable all-in-one device with ISO-rated speeds of up to 11 pages per minute black and 7.5 pages per minute in color, and separate colors for HP 5511 printer ink cut down on waste and trim running costs.

The design aesthetic of the 5511 is certainly very similar to those you might see from Apple, to the point that the control panel is not unlike an iPhone turned on its side. The touch-screen interface also mimics the usability, with large icons and a full-color display that is easy to navigate. Its total dimensions measure 17.17x12.8x5.75 inches, and it weighs a very light 11.12 pounds.

A USB port is included, though a cable is not. The built-in wireless support is the option most users will likely choose for connectivity, however. Also included is support HP's ePrint technology. This allows users to navigate to a website right on the touch-screen interface of the control panel, and print a page directly without the need for a PC. While this is an interesting feature, the 2.36 inch display is less than ideal for this purpose, so it may go unused.

Individual Photosmart 5511 ink cartridges separate the multiple colors of printer ink: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. As an alternative to combined tricolor tanks, this means only changing HP 5511 ink cartridges when they are empty, making the entire inkjet system more cost-effective and reducing waste. Buyers will be glad to know that high-capacity Photosmart 5511 ink for an even lower cost per page.

While it lacks some business features like a document feeder, and its touch-screen interface might not appeal to all buyers, inexpensive HP 5511 ink and the fact that it is a fast and versatile device make it a great value over the long term.
