There are a lot of large format printers out there on the market, but the HP DesignJet 5000 is one that buyers should definitely consider. An inkjet unit, it will help businesses create posters, maps and large photos with clarity and precision. It will be impossible for users to be disappointed in the 1200x600 dpi resolutions it can create using the HP 5000 ink. Able to connect via parallel and ethernet, it doesn't offer wireless connection like new models may. The amount of RAM installed though is impressive. Upon purchase there are 128 MB of memory, but upgrades of up to 256 MB can be added for those who need it. Networking features are also included.
For printing, six HP 5000 ink cartridges are used. There are four standard tanks of printer ink—black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Two additional DesignJet 5000 ink cartridges are also needed to though—light magenta and light cyan. The six colors make it possible to produce images with sharp quality and excellent color tone all around. These inkjets come in both high capacity and standard capacity versions. The high capacity inks will last 1,312 pages, while the standard capacity will last 1,000 pages.
Paper is loaded automatically through a roller and by using a curved paper path. Many media types are supported too. Banners, coated paper, poster boards and glossy photo paper are a few of the many that can be printed on. Other media types like plain paper and satin paper are compatible too.
The price tag on replacement HP 5000 ink directly from the manufacturer is definitely a little steep. However, remanufactured printer ink is available from third party vendors. Remanufactured DesignJet 5000 ink is just as good as the OEM version as far as yield and resolution, but it will cost buyers much less.

Warranty for Compatible/Remanufactured Products
Based on our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, Ink Technologies will accept returns of compatible or remanufactured ink and toner cartridges for full credit if the returned product has a valid return authorization number and is received in our warehouse within 6 months of the original shipping date. If there is a confirmed print quality issue, only 1 set of opened products will be accepted for credit returns, and only if less than 30% of the ink or toner has been used.
Ink Technologies will replace defective compatible or remanufactured products free of charge if the products are returned within 1 year of the original ship date, and provide a return shipping tag for return of the product.
