The HP OfficeJet 4620 e-All-in-One includes not only the basic functionality of printing, scanning, and copying that buyers would expect from a multifunction color inkjet, but it also includes extras like AirPrint support, wireless networking, and faxing at a price that is unexpectedly low. This makes it a consumer device that leans heavily toward the business side of things, and affordable HP 4620 printer ink prices help keep users under-budget.
The print speeds might seem somewhat slow at first glance, but the ISO-rated speeds of 8 pages per minute for black and 7.5 pages per minute for color give a more accurate estimate of real-world usage, rather than the overestimated numbers of the past. The device can connect to a single computer via USB, but most will opt to utilize its wireless support. There is a strange omission in the lack of an ethernet port for wired networking, but this was likely a tradeoff for its low cost.
Where the wireless connectivity really shines, however, is its integration with the functions available. Users can easily send scanned documents to any computer connected wirelessly, for example, and those with Apple devices can easily send a document or web page to the unit using AirPrint technology, which requires virtually no setup and works quite seamlessly. This kind of simple integration is built into every function to make for easier workflows for users.
For an inkjet model, the cost of OfficeJet 4620 printer ink is quite reasonable. Standard HP 4620 ink cartridges have capacities of around 300 pages for color and 250 for black, but high-capacity OfficeJet 4620 printer ink cartridge more than double these numbers, driving the cost per page down.
The 4620 has the compact size, business-minded functionality, and affordable price that will appeal to almost any home office user. The extra savings on HP 4620 ink adds considerable long-term value, and extras like AirPrint help it to integrate with even more devices.

The HP OfficeJet 4620 is a true all-in-one inkjet printer, as it can print, scan, fax, and copy. Its ISO rated speeds are up to 8 pages per minute in black and 7.5 pages per minute in color, and a 35-sheet automatic document feeder is great for fast scanning tasks.
With the printer powered on, lift from both sides to raise the top cover. After a few moments, the cartridges will move toward the center for better access.
Locate the HP 4620 cartridge you need to replace, and press backward on the small handle on its front. This will unlock the cartridge so you can lift it up and out of the opening.
Open the box for your replacement OfficeJet 4620 cartridge and cut or tear the plastic bag and remove it as well. There is a yellow tape strip at the top of the cartridge. Pull it in the direction of the arrows until it is removed, then pry the new cartridge’s small handle away from the orange plastic protector.
Place the new 4620 cartridge into the opening, with its front tilted slightly downward. Let it settle loosely, then press down on its top to click it fully into place. Lower the access panel slowly to complete the installation.
You are now ready to resume printing with your HP OfficeJet 4620 printer.
