HP 4610 Printer Review

The HP OfficeJet 4610 is an all-in-one inkjet printer that can output near-laser quality text, but is much more affordable. It comes at a low upfront price, and HP 4610 printer ink comes in high-capacity supplies that keep the cost per page low. ISO speeds are generally fast, at 8 pages per minute for black and 7.5 pages per minute for color.

One of the reasons the 4610 is a little more affordable than other models in its line is that it doesn't include wired or wireless networking, but only a USB port. For those who only need a direct connection, however, the savings should be welcome, though it doesn't include a cable in the box. It also doesn't include ePrint or AirPrint features. The device might be a little larger than some would expect, measuring 8.1x17.7x14 inches, but it weighs only 13.7 pounds without the OfficeJet 4610 ink installed.

The system uses four individual OfficeJet 4610 ink cartridges for easy replacement of only one color at a time, reducing waste. HP 4610 ink cartridges come in high capacities of up to 750 pages for each color HP 4610 printer ink, and up to 800 pages for black.

Copying, scanning, and faxing are all included, and are made much easier and faster with the inclusion of a 35-sheet automatic document feeder for continuous scanning. The input tray can only hold 80 sheets of paper, however, which might be a bit limiting. The output tray can only hold 20 sheets as well, so users may need to empty it often.

If buyers don't need networking support or the admittedly useful ePrint and AirPrint features, they can save money with the OfficeJet 4610. Otherwise, they may want to consider upgrading to other inkjet models in its line, such as the 4620 or 4625.
