Its printer and copier functions are among the fastest of home units, producing black-and-white projects at a rate of 20 pages per minute. Black-and-white documents have sharp resolutions of up to 1200x1200 dpi using black HP 4310 ink. For any full-color projects like photos, the unit can produce resolutions of 4800x1200 dpi using OfficeJet 4310 ink.

The inkjet scanner, which uses a 48-bit color depth, can scan documents with a maximum interpolated resolution of 19200 dpi. The fax machine will also receive documents that mirror the quality of the original project. Due to a fax memory of up to 200 pages, users can save projects to memory to print at a later time if printer ink has run low or if the unit is out of paper.

The manufacturer provides several supplies, including starter color and black HP 4310 ink cartridges and a phone cable for the fax machine. Replacement OfficeJet 4310 ink cartridges can be found at a number of different locations including the manufacturer's site and third party vendors. The cyan, magenta and yellow HP 4310 ink has a maximum capacity of 165 pages, while the black printer ink can yield up to 190 pages.
