Sometimes, consumers are not looking for flashy printers with many features that tend to get confusing. Sometimes people just want simplicity and a machine that is going to cover the basic needs of a home office. The HP 410 is just that. The purpose of it is to provide color printing and copying capabilities, thus opening worlds of opportunity.

The copying feature is one of the finer color inkjet copy machines available. It can produce up to 99 copies from an original and enlarge documents up to 400%. Using the black HP 410 ink, as many as 14 pages can be copied in a minute. Using the color printer ink exclusively, only 9 copies per minute can be yielded. Units that have ink in 4 seperate tanks seem to produce faster speeds, such as Epson T069420 ink.

There is a 35 sheet automatic document feeder for added convenience, as well as a 100 sheet input tray. This unit can print on various kinds of paper, such as plain, photo, envelopes, transparencies, labels and cards. This versatility allows users to make different documents, including brochures and posters, sometimes without the need of a PC. Another helpful feature is the warning light that flashes when an HP 410 ink cartridge is running low. Higher yielding ink will last much longer than the 410, such as HP 96 ink.

Even though this printer has been discontinued, printer ink is still readily available online. There are OEM as well as compatible and remanufactured HP 410 ink cartridges available. Using either color or black ink, the HP 410 can reach a maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi, while printing at the same fast speeds as the copier. For better quality and speed, though, look at Phaser 8400 which uses Xerox 108R00606 ink.

The 410 has a monthly duty cycle of 3,000 pages, and if that cycle is exceeded, it could damage the longevity of the unit. Kinko's is a cool store, but why not have the same thing in the other room at home? This is completely possible with the HP 410 inkjet 2-in-1 machine.
