With a 500 page monthly duty cycle, the HP Deskjet 3920 is not intended for high-volume usage. It is best suited for occasional printing, like a student printing reports or a mother printing photos. A small office would achieve the opposite of efficiency by adding this inkjet unit. Though the 3920 is certainly not one of the elite printers on the market, it is affordable. For less than $70, it can perform basic tasks with average speed and good quality.

Quality is measured by resolution, and resolution is measured by dots-per-inch, or dpi. The black HP 3920 ink can reach a resolution of 1200x1200 dpi, and the color maxes out at 4800x1200 dpi. There are only two Deskjet 3920 ink cartridges, one black and the other tricolor, which consists of cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink.

The HP 3920 ink cartridges have low page yields, both under 200 pages. For people that print on a daily basis, it may become a hassle to constantly replace the printer ink tanks. However, there are many third party vendors online that sell affordable and reliable Deskjet 3920 ink.

When using black HP 3920 ink only, up to 16 pages per minute can be produced. Using color, only 12 pages per minute can be printed. These speeds are respectable and semi-efficient. There is no dual sided printing available, but it does have an 80-page input tray and a 50-page output tray. It connects via USB port and works with Windows and Mac. Weighing less than 5 pounds and measuring 5.6x16.6x13.62 inches, mobility should not be a problem.

Past consumers seem to be frustrated with paper jams, especially when trying to print envelopes. Some have complained about the low page yields of the HP Deskjet 39320 ink, though most appreciate the low cost of replacements. With this inkjet unit, you get exactly what you pay for.
