HP 3750 Printer Review

The HP Color LaserJet 3750 is a color laser printer designed for the small or medium office environment. Print quality in monochrome and color are both excellent, but its slow speeds and bulky design make it less appealing than competing products.

The HP 3750 aims to hit the middle ground between a small office printer and a larger high-volume printer, by offering more paper capacity and better quality than a compact laser printer. It only partially achieves its goal, however, as it is bigger than competing products that offer similar print quality for a similar price, but most of these competing products also offer faster print speeds. The HP 3750 measures 18.4 inches by 19.7 inches by 17.6 inches, and weighs 73 pounds with HP toner cartridges. Most small offices will likely find this too large and heavy for their small spaces.

The LaserJet 3750 does have more processing power than one might expect. It includes a 350 mhz processor and 128 MB of RAM in its standard configuration. The RAM can be expanded to a maximum of 448 MB if needed. The printer also includes an ethernet port for connecting it directly to a network, for sharing among multiple computers. Setting up networking is very easy, as most of the setup routine is handled by the printer itself. The LaserJet 3750 can also be connected directly via USB or parallel connections.

HP LaserJet 3750 toner cartridges have a capacity of 6,000 pages for each black HP 3750 toner and color HP 3750 toner. It's notable that the HP LaserJet 3750 toner costs are relatively inexpensive. This keeping operating costs as well as costs per page low.

Print quality is excellent, with sharp text and good graphics quality. Print speed is the HP 3750's main drawback. Its color print speed matches its monochrome speed, which is impressive, but both are limited to around 16 pages per minute, slower than many competing products.

Overall, the HP Color LaserJet 3750 offers slower speeds than the competition, at a higher price and in a bulkier frame. Excellent print quality isn't enough to overcome some of its other hurdles.
