HP 3650v Printer Review

A good choice in the personal inkjet printer realm is the HP Deskjet 3650v. This unit is a next generation member of the HP 3600 series printers that is designed for personal use where large volumes are not necessary. A very low, under $100 initial cost makes it a great choice for students or small business environments. Reasonably fast speeds of 15 pages per minute using black and 10 pages per minute using color HP 3650v ink are more than sufficient. Very similar to the earlier HP 3620v, it comes with new and improved software.

Personal inkjet printer is an apt description for this handy little office member. Measuring 16.9x8.1x5.6 inches and weighing 5 pounds, it fits in even the tightest office quarters. Most computers will easily configure with this machine. Mac OS and Windows 98 plus are compatible with this machine. However, the computer must be equipped with a USB interface for proper setup.

The HP 3650v ink cartridges for this series are common to many other HP units. The printer ink is dye-based in the tricolor Deskjet 3650v cartridge and pigment-based in the black, which helps with excellent color and laser quality text. Print resolution up to 4800x1200 dpi is attainable with HP 3650v ink. This software and Deskjet 3650v ink cartridges offer a very professional 4x6 inch borderless print quality that rivals the photo lab. This feature alone could more than make up for the cost of the printer.

Photographyreview.com and PC World always seem favorable in their reviews of HP imaging wares. Both mentioned that at times black prints tend to look more green than black. All in all the low upfront price, low cost of HP 3650v ink and the excellent output of this compact office machine gather few negative remarks in the personal office technology playing field.
