HP 3070a Printer Review

While its model name may be a mouthful, the HP Deskjet 3070a e-All-in-One is a fairly well-equipped multifunction color inkjet printer. Its rated speeds of 23 pages per minute for black and 7.5 pages per minute are fairly impressive, but may be slower based on quality settings. The high-capacity options for HP 3070a printer ink cartridges can save a lot of money, however.

The 3070a can handle printing, scanning, and copying functions, but the latter two functions are somewhat limited by slow scanning speeds and the lack of a document feeder. Users must load each page individually for scans and copies, which will take extra time and the higher resolution settings can sometimes slow to a crawl.

Multiple print quality modes let users decide whether they would rather have faster speeds or higher quality prints. The lower quality settings also have the benefit of using less Deskjet 3070a printer ink, which can cut costs. Professional reviews rate the print quality quite high, but only at the highest settings.

The control panel is fairly sparse, with very few buttons and only a small display for relaying information to the user. This was probably a concession to create a more compact device, but will likely require users to dig deeper into menus for important functions and settings.

The inkjet system uses four separate Deskjet 3070a ink cartridges, which allows individual colors to be replaced separately and help reduce waste. The high capacity versions of HP 3070a ink provide around twice the capacity of standard versions, lowering the cost per page. Using compatible Deskjet 3070a ink will reduce costs even lower.

When simple printing, scanning, and copying functions are needed, the 3070a can be an excellent choice, as long as buyers don't mind its slow scanning speeds. The affordable upfront price is very economical, as is the low cost of HP 3070a ink.
