The HP Deskjet 3051a All-in-One inkjet printer not only comes at a very low price, considering its many features, but its wireless support and ePrint mobile printing are nice bonuses. It is rated for up to 16 pages per minute in color and 20 ppm in black, Deskjet 3051a printer ink is affordably-priced, and its sleek, compact design will be appealing to home users.
As a printer, scanner, and copier, it is surprising that the 3051a is so affordable. It measures 6.1x16.8x12 inches, and weighs less than 8 pounds, even with HP 3051a printer ink supplies installed. The front output and top input trays both fold inward for easier storage, and the LCD screen flips up and down for easier use.
The 3051a does have a few caveats. It includes both a USB port and wireless support, but no wired ethernet port, so users with an existing wired network may be left out. Wireless support is also required for HP's ePrint features, which include mobile and cloud printing from a number of devices, even remotely.
With an input tray that holds only 60 sheets, users shouldn't expect to use it for high volumes, but it supports a decent variety of media types and sizes. Expert tests showed good results for test and basic graphics, though heavy graphics and photo printing is not particularly recommended for this model.
Part of the reason for its limited output quality is the use of a tricolor HP 3051a ink cartridge, along with the single black supply. Although this configuration makes the Deskjet 3051a ink cartridges easier to replace, it can lead to wasted printer ink, compared to models with discrete colors.
As an entry-level all-in-one inkjet with solid features and decent speeds, the 3051a is impressive. Its low price and affordable HP 3051a ink will be very appealing for users who don't need a lot from a device.

Make sure the printer is turned on before you start, then raise the top cover. It will stay in place on its own, and the cartridge carrier will move toward the center automatically in a few moments.
With the black cartridge on the right and the color cartridge on the left, raise the cover of the Deskjet 3051a ink cartridge you need to replace, then grab it and lift it from the opening.
Get the new HP 3051a cartridge prepared by removing it from its box, then carefully open and remove the plastic bag as well. While squeezing the handles of the plastic protector, pry it away from the cartridge. Before installation, make sure you also remove the strip of tape at the bottom.
Insert your new Deskjet 3051a ink cartridge into the opening in the printer, then lower down the small cover and snap it into place. Gently close the main cover of the printer as well.
