Resolutions of up to 600 dpi can be created easily with this 7.9 pound machine, and up to 1,000 pages can be produced each and every month. Able to produce 20 black text documents every minute, the 3050 should keep up with home users' needs quite well.

Two HP 3050 ink tanks are needed for standard prints. One is a black printer ink that lasts for about 190 pages before needing replaced, while the other is a tricolor tank that lasts 165 pages. The tricolor tank is filled with cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink. For users who want ink that lasts a little longer, high capacity Deskjet 3050 ink tanks are available too. The black will last 480 pages, and the tricolor will last 330 pages.

When it comes to strengths and weaknesses there are a lot more strengths than anything else. Buyers love how fast it operates, and complaints are hard to find when it comes to the faxing capabilities as a whole. The Deskjet 3050 can handle printing, scanning, and copying in a single all-in-one device. Its small paper capacity of 60 sheets means it is best suited for light-duty use, but its purchase price is very affordable. With wireless support, the unit is very easy to set up and share in a home environment.

Although the model shown differs in appearance, the process is the same.

Ensure that your printer is powered on, then lift up on the top cover from below the scanner lid. Notice that the cartridges come into view automatically.

The color cartridge is on the left, with the black cartridge on the right. Open the small cover for the HP 3050 cartridge you need to replace, then pull it out of the opening.

Prepare the replacement Deskjet 3050 ink cartridge by first removing it from its box, then removing it from the plastic bag. Find the handles of the plastic protector and squeeze them to pry it away from the cartridge. Before you install, grab the tape strip at the bottom and remove that as well.

Place the Deskjet 3050 cartridge into the opening, then rotate and close the small cover. Lower the printer’s top cover to complete the process.

You are now ready to resume printing with your HP Deskjet 3050 printer.
