The HP LaserJet 3000 color laser printer is designed for the small or medium office environment. It has fast speeds and can handle high volume printing needs, especially with its expansion options. HP toner is generally not as inexpensive as a Brother toner cartridge, but HP is the leading printer manufacturer and does not price as aggressively.
The HP 3000 color laser printer is built to handle high volume printing in nearly any environment. It has a monthly duty cycle of 60,000 pages. It includes 64 MB of RAM standard, and can be upgraded to a maximum of 512 MB if needed. One drawback is the limited paper capacities. The main paper tray holds only 250 sheets, and its multipurpose tray holds 100 sheets. This seems a little limited for a high-volume model, but an additional 500 sheet drawer can be added as an upgrade for more capacity.
It comes in a variety of models. The 3000 is the base model, the 3000N adds networking, and the 3000DN adds automatic duplexing and networking.
The design of the LaserJet 3000 is straightforward and simple, like the HP CM2320 toner printer. The case is rectangular with a curve at the top. The control panel is located in the center at the top for easy access. The LCD screen is backlit, making it easier to read in low-light situations, or in locations with a lot of glare. The only standard connection is USB 2.0, although N models offer ethernet and there are wireless upgrades available.
HP LaserJet 3000 toner cartridges have a capacity of 6,500 pages for the black printer toner cartridge, and color laser toner cartridges have capacities of 3,500 pages each. HP 3000 toner cartridges tend to be expensive when compared to similar models. Laserjet 2840 toner, for example, is nearly half the price, despite having similar capacities. However, to help you save on toner costs, we offer any color compatible HP toner cartridge at signficantly reduced prices when compared to the genuine OEM cartridge. Our cartridges are equal in quality to the higher priced OEM versions.
Print quality is excellent, producing some of the sharpest text on the market. Color printing quality is average, but serviceable. Print speeds are quite fast, at 29 pages per minute for black and 15 pages per minute for color.
Overall, the HP LaserJet 3000 is a great value for a high-volume printer. Larger offices may need to factor in the cost of a paper capacity upgrade to avoid having to constantly replenish the paper supply. The HP toner cartridge capacities are excellent and therefore, personnel won't waste time constantly changing cartridges.
