It has the office functions a busy home or small office user needs but has the excellent photo features that make it a great photo printer as well. When it comes to office work, the Photosmart 2608 doesn't skimp on performance. Faxing is faster than many laser models, supporting Super G3 transmissions speeds up to 33.6 Kbps, and the fax function also includes useful features like quick keys and automatic redial. The unit has only a flatbed scanning surface which might be a challenge for users who routinely fax multiple pages at once, however. Scanning supports up to a 4800 dpi optical resolution for great quality scans. Print speed is up to 30 pages per minute for black and 20 pages per minute for color.

When it comes to photos, the 2608 has that covered as well. Memory card slots and a PictBridge-enabled USB port make it easy to upload and edit photos for printing even without a computer. The color scanner is an excellent way to convert physical photos to digital files as well.
