HP 2430 Printer Review

The HP LaserJet 2430 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the small or medium office environment. Its compact size and fast speeds are impressive, and its print quality is excellent. Including a starter HP toner cartridge was the only misstep.

Personal laser printers and small office printers are getting smaller in size, like the HP P1005 toner printer, but sometimes at the expense of speed and quality. But even small and medium office printers like the HP 2430 are starting to incorporate smaller designs without any sacrifice in quality or speed. In fact, the HP 2430 has better print quality and faster speeds than many more expensive models. The printer measures 10.2 inches by 16.7 inches by 15.7 inches, and weighs only 36 pounds. It can easily be moved around by one strong person, and can fit into tight spaces.

Despite its small frame, the LaserJet 2430 doesn't skimp on paper capacity. It can hold 250 sheets in its main tray and 100 sheets in its multipurpose tray for a total of 350 sheets. An optional 500-sheet tray can be added to expand the unit's paper capacity to a total of 850 sheets. The printer's 100,000 page monthly duty cycle gives it the room to expand to meet the needs of a growing office now and in the future. HP LaserJet 2430 toner cartridges have a capacity of 12,000 pages each, and tend to be fairly inexpensive, resulting in a low cost per page. Print speeds are some of the fastest available for the price, at up to 35 pages per minute. Text and graphics quality are both excellent. The HP 2430 produces sharp, detailed prints with its 1200 dpi printing engine.

Overall, the HP LaserJet 2430 offers very fast speeds and stellar print quality in a compact and affordable package. Expandability will allow it to grow in the future.
