The HP DesignJet 10PS is a large-format unit that measures 21.4x28.5x27.6 inches and weighs 27 pounds. Slower printing using black and color HP 10PS ink combined with a low monthly duty cycle make this unit capable of producing only low volume output rates. It size and speed make the 10PS a pretty outdated inkjet device whose mediocre features can't compete with more recent models.

Using both black and color DesignJet 10PS ink, the printer can turn out a maximum of only 10 pages per minute. Its highest black HP 10PS ink resolutions is 2400x1200 dpi and its color printer ink resolution is up to 2400 dpi. Its ImageREt III color control technology helps this unit create quality graphic documents, while PhotoREt III technology produces beautiful color photos.

This unit's 6-color printer ink system includes black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta. Each color comes in a separate DesignJet 10PS ink cartridge—a convenient feature that allows users to replace tanks individually as they expire. One of this printer's best features is its high-yielding HP 10PS ink cartridges that last approximately 1,450 pages.

This inkjet device has an input tray capable of holding up to 150 sheets and a bypass tray that can store 10 sheets. It contains a 16 MB RAM and 1 GB of available hard disk space. The 10PS also includes a duplex printing feature that automatically turns paper over for convenient two sided documents.

Although it does have a few useful features like quality and affordable HP 10PS ink, a majority of this printer's functions are archaic and have a low value compared to new models. However, the HP DesignJet 10PS may work for consumers only interested in a device that has inexpensive running costs and a good photo printing function.
