The HP LaserJet 1015 is a monochrome laser printer designed for the personal user. It features easy setup and good driver support, all in a compact, affordable printer.
The HP 1015 is built for small space. The unit weighs only 13 pounds and measures 8.2 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches. It can easily share a desk surface with a computer, and will fit into most spaces designed for inkjet printers.
Setup is simple, with clear instructions to guide you through the process. The installation process is quick and painless, and the included software provides many options, including an economy mode, which helps conserve toner ink with only a slight loss in print quality. The printer is compatible with all modern versions of Windows and Mac OS X.
The HP 1015 has a maximum media capacity of 160 sheets, which is a little below average for its class, but not terrible. A wide range of media types and sizes are supported, up to a maximum size of A4 or Legal. LaserJet toner capacity is 2,000 pages, but a high-yield cartridge is available, with a capacity of 3,000 pages.
Print speed is good for the price, at around 15 pages per minute. Print quality is generally very good, with sharp, defined text, even at small font sizes. Graphics quality is a little below average, but that is to be expected for a laser printer at this price point.
Overall, the HP LaserJet 1015 is an impressive personal printer. Its speed and quality are impressive for the price, and its compact size and light weight make it an excellent choice for users short on space.

HP LaserJet 1015 Instructional Video Transcript
This video will show you how to replace the toner cartridge in your HP LaserJet 1015 printer.
With a top speed of up to 15 pages per minute, the HP LaserJet 1015 is a little faster than the 1010 and 1012 models in its line. This makes it a good choice for personal users who want a little more speed, but still want an affordable and compact laser printer for light-duty use.
Remove the empty HP 1015 toner cartridge by opening the output paper tray, and then opening the access panel.
There is a small handle on the cartridge. Grab this handle and rotate it up while pulling the cartridge out.
Now open the box for your new LaserJet 1015 toner cartridge and remove it. Then remove packing materials and the bag. Avoid touching the green strip, as it is sensitive and easily damaged.
Before you remove the packing strip, rock the HP 1015 cartridge forward and backward to evenly distribute the toner inside. Then put one finger inside the loop and pull until the packing strip is completely removed.
The toner cartridge is now ready to insert into the LaserJet 1015 printer. Slide it along the side rails until it rotates and locks into place. Close the panel, and you are finished.
You are now ready to resume printing with your HP LaserJet 1015 laser printer.
