HP 1010 Printer Review
The HP Fax 1010 is multifunction unit with scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities. It's inexpensive at just $100-$120 and conveniently small. At only 7.7 pounds, this inkjet device provides affordable prices on HP Fax 1010 ink and can fit comfortably on a desk in any small business.
All three functions of this unit have pretty low HP 1010 ink resolution, at a maximum of 196x203 dpi and 200x200 dpi for scanning. HP 1010 ink for copying only comes in black printer ink, no color option is available. The resolution using black HP 1010 ink for copies is 300x300 dpi and often leaves results looking washed out and grainy. To keep results to at least average quality, this device should only be used for low and moderate output rates. Consumers who plan on using the fax function often should consider a unit that works at a faster pace and includes features like a larger automatic paper feeder ( the HP 1010 only has a 10-sheet feeder)
Positives to owning this inkjet unit include the integrated phone headset that's in the box, easy to find HP 1010 ink cartridges, and a clear, quality sound loudspeaker. However, these features are shrouded by the plethora of negative reviews for this machine. Poor quality resolution using HP Fax1010 ink cartridges for scanning, copying, and faxing is enough to scare off any consumer. If a consumer is simply looking for a lightweight unit that is compact with inexpensive printer ink and an included headset, this model would make them very happy.
The HP 1010 has one compatible model, the 1010xi. The HP 1010 has a memory capacity of .5 Mb, or around 40 pages. The HP 1010xi shares many or the same features as the 1010, such as poor printer ink quality, but it also has a larger memory capacity.
