Gestetner P7132 Printer Review
Small offices will be drawn to the relatively compact size of the Gestetner P7132 laser printer, as well as its solid paper capacity. It can print up to 32 pages per minute, and has a first page out time of 6.5 seconds for a quick response. Its purchase price is fairly high for a small office machine, however, and Gestetner P7132 printer toner is expensive to replace.
Sometimes referred to as the P7132N, the model comes with built-in networking capabilities with its ethernet port. It also includes parallel and USB ports for those who need them and optional upgrade for Bluetooth and wireless networking as well. The machine measures 13.5x18.8x17.2 inches, and it weighs just 44 pounds with the Gestetner P7132 toner installed.
Unlike similar models in its line that start with a smaller paper capacity, the P7132 starts with a main tray that holds 500 sheets and a bypass tray that holds up to 100 sheets. This will likely be enough for many small office environments, but it can be further expanded for up to 1,600 sheets of input paper capacity. Other upgrade options include a sort tray, mailbox sorter, a hard drive, and upgradeable memory.
As it is with so many laser models, the cost of toners can be a concern. In fact, Gestetner P7132 toner cartridges are some of the most expensive on the market for small office machines. Since each Gestetner P7132 toner cartridge can provide around 20,000 pages, replacements won't be needed to frequently, but the cost per page could be better.
The P7132 is a good choice for small offices with an eye toward growth in the future. It has the paper capacity and speed for low to medium-volume workloads to start, and upgrade options for future expansion. Its only disappointing aspect is its expensive supplies.
