Epson WF-7010 Printer Review

The Epson WorkForce WF-7010 is a fast inkjet printer with support for wide formats up to 13 inches in width, and its large paper capacity and network support make it a solid choice for a small office. It can print at up to 15 pages per minute ISO speed for black and up to 8 pages per minute for color prints, and the cost of Epson WF-7010 printer ink certainly won't break the budget, either.

The paper-handling features of the WF-7010 are one of its most impressive aspects. It can handle a maximum media size of 13x44 inches, though media longer than 19 inches will stick out of the tray when feeding. This shouldn't be too much of an issue, as these larger media sizes will likely be only occasional, but it bears mentioning. There are two trays that can hold up to 250 sheets each, which also provides the flexibility of loading two types of media at once.

The DURABrite Ultra printer ink that is used is designed to be more durable than that of the average inkjet, making it great for archival prints. Using all four colors of Epson WF-7010 ink cartridges, the unit can produce a resolution of 5760x1440 dpi for very sharp quality. Replacing the WorkForce WF-7010 ink cartridges won't be too expensive, as they tend to be very affordable. Users can also choose compatible WorkForce WF-7010 ink if they want to save a bit more.

The design of the WF-7010 might be a bit larger than expected. It measures 10.4x22x27 inches, but weighs only 27.1 pounds. Much of its extra bulk is due to its wide-format support and the large paper capacity, however, so it should be worth the tradeoff.

For those who need to do some wide-format printing but don't want the extra expense or bulk of a much larger machine, the WF-7010 makes a good compromise. It can easily handle day-to-day tasks, but has the flexibility for more, and the low cost of Epson WF-7010 ink makes it affordable to operate.
