All-in-one inkjet printers are increasingly becoming a viable option for small office use, and the Epson WorkForce WF-2520 is a prime example. With ISO speeds of 9 pages per minute in black and 4.7 ppm in color, as well as the print, copy, scan, and fax functions office users need, it is an incredible bargain for the price. Individual colors of Epson WF-2520 printer ink also make it more cost-effective.

With the trays open, the unit measures 11.5x15.4x21.3 inches, but it can be folded up for storage with a little less height and depth. Even with the WorkForce WF-2520 ink installed, the unit only weighs 12.8 pounds, so moving it around is fairly simple.

The optical scanning resolution of 2400 dpi can provide very sharp images, and up to 99 copies can be made from one original, at a size of up to 8.5x14 inches. Faxing transmission speed is 33.6 Kbps, and the maximum optimized print resolution of 5760x1440 dpi should result in excellent photos as well as office documents.

While the WF-2520 includes an ethernet port for networking, it does not come with built-in Wi-Fi support. Although Epson touts its mobile printing over wireless, users will need to connect the printer directly to a wireless router via ethernet. The other minor downside to the machine is that its paper capacity is only 100 sheets, and is not upgradeable.

Replacement WorkForce WF-2520 printer ink cartridges come in two sizes: standard and high-capacity. The standard capacity Epson WF-2520 ink cartridges can provide up to 165 and 175 pages for color and black, respectively. Users who want a lower cost per page can purchase the Epson WF-2520 ink supplies and get up to 500 pages for black and 450 pages for each color.

The Epson WF-2520 inkjet printer could be an excellent choice for smaller offices, or busy home users. The lack of wireless and a small paper capacity are the only major drawbacks of this very impressive device.
