In a market that favors all-in-one devices, the Epson Stylus N10 inkjet printer focuses only on high-quality printing, from laser-quality text to excellent photos. Its ISO speeds of 2.9 pages per minute for black and 1.5 pages per minute for color could be a little better, but home users can usually tolerate a bit less speed. Epson N10 printer ink is also very smudge and fade resistant, perfect for archival photo printing.

The included software also makes high-quality photo printing simple. Options for Auto Photo Correction and red-eye removal can save users time and greatly enhance the end result. The machine also has a compact design, measuring 5.3x16.3x8.9 inches, and it weighs only 5.3 pounds, even with the Stylus N10 printer ink in place, so it can easily be moved out of the way when it is not in use.

A PictBridge compatible USB port is available on the front of the machine, though it lacks memory card slots. Users will still need to use a computer; however, as the control panel lacks a display for editing or previewing images. Both Windows and Mac operating systems are supported, and the unit connects via USB.

The inkjet system uses four separate Epson N10 ink cartridges: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. The three color supplies have an estimated yield of around 200 pages, while the black Stylus N10 ink cartridge can supply around 170 pages. While OEM prices are reasonable, remanufactured Epson N10 ink is available from third-party sellers for a lot less.

The N10 is a nearly perfect solution for buyers who want an easy-to-use device for lab-quality photo printing at home. It lacks a few advanced features like automatic duplexing and the convenience of PC-free printing, but its sharp output quality and inexpensive supplies make it easy to overlook these minor flaws.
