Epson NX330 Printer Review

The Epson Stylus NX330 is a solid all-in-one inkjet that also offers great photo quality. It lacks faxing capabilities, but it can print, scan, and copy, with support for wireless networking built right in. Instant-drying Epson NX330 printer ink is a nice bonus, and running costs are quite low.

The NX330 can print at ISO-rated speeds of 6.2 pages per minute for black and 3.2 pages per minute for color. It can copy at the same speed, and scanning is quick as well. The unit includes only a flatbed scanner, so multi-page documents will take longer than a model that has an automatic document feeder, but its maximum interpolated resolution of 9600 dpi and its optical resolution of 1200 dpi provide sharp detail and excellent color accuracy.

The NX330 has a very compact design that should appeal to space-challenged home users. There are a few sacrifices that were made for such a small size, like the somewhat tiny 1.44 inch LCD screen and the 100-sheet paper capacity. Despite these few issues, there are a number of features for photo enthusiasts, like memory card slots and a PictBridge port that allow for easy integration with a digital camera.

The system uses 4 colors of Epson NX330 printer ink cartridges for printing, which is typical of the average inkjet. Given the price of OEM Stylus NX330 ink, this could start to add up. Luckily, buyers can choose compatible Stylus NX330 ink cartridges as a cost-saving alternative, without sacrificing output quality.

The NX330 will appeal to photo enthusiasts who also want some basic office functionality as well. Its solid print speeds and sharp photo quality are top-notch, and wireless connectivity along with camera connection options offer a lot of flexibility. Add in the low cost of Epson NX330 ink, and you have a cost-effective machine with a great feature set.
