Epson C80 Printer Review

The Epson Stylus C80 is a standard, single-function unit that can produce satisfactory documents at average speeds. The C80 uses DuraBrite printer ink technology that helps produce documents that are water and fade resistant. Its Epson C80 ink droplet size is as small as 3 picoliters and produces excellent quality. Average printing speeds and a monthly duty cycle of 5,000 pages make this inkjet printer a good fit for home environments and personal use.

Stylus C80 ink cartridges - which include black, cyan, magenta and yellow ink - have drop-on-demand Micro Piezo technology that produces vibrant color graphics and photos. The C80 has individual tanks for each printer ink color, a convenient feature that makes replacing expired tanks easy. Its black tank has a 1,240 page capacity and its color tanks have a 420 page capacity. Both Epson C80 ink cartridges yield a good amount, making this device relatively inexpensive to run.

Black Stylus C80 ink prints at a moderately fast rate of 20 pages per minute. Color, however, turns out a slow rate of only 10 pages per minute. A maximum resolution of 2880X720 dpi using black and color Epson C80 ink produces quality photos, text and graphic documents. It has standard USB and parallel connectivity with additional networking and wireless options that give users flexibility when printing.

The manufacturer provides a tank of each color, a user's manual and a CD-ROM of software that makes setup and installation easy. However, a USB cable does not come in the box and must be purchased separately. This inkjet unit's ability to print on a variety of media like double-sided matte paper and its 150-sheet input tray are both great features that personal users will find useful. The Epson Stylus C80's light weight of 17 pounds, small size and inexpensive tanks makes it a great printer for home use.
