The Epson Artisan 725 is an all-in-one printer that offers home users nearly everything they could need. Printing, copying and scanning, it does lack faxing features that some buyers may miss. However, for the most part, home users don't need faxing features. As far as price tag goes, buyers will find that the upfront price and overall cost of maintenance using Epson 725 ink cartridges to be right up their alley. The 725 will also offer some of the highest resolutions out there, thanks to the printer ink, meaning print outs will have high quality every time.

Buyers will probably immediately like are all the PC-free printing features that come standard with this machine. Automatic photo correction, passport and photo ID printing, personalized notepaper printing, photo greeting card printing and color book page printing are just a few of the PC-free printing features. Another feature that this Epson supports that a lot of the competition doesn't is CD and DVD printing Using this unit and its needed Artisan 725 ink, users can print on CD and DVD cases, labels or directly onto special inkjet printable CDs and DVDs. It will be hard to find these features from another manufacturer.

To print, buyers will need six Artisan 725 ink cartridges. It uses the four colors of printer ink that are standard with most inkjet printers—cyan, magenta, yellow and black—in addition to two special ink tanks filled with light cyan and light magenta Epson 725 ink. The color tanks will last buyers 500 pages each, while the black will last buyers 545 pages.

When it comes to speed and quality, the Epson 725 impresses too. Up to 40 pages per minute can be produced when printing or copying in color. Resolutions are hard to beat too at 5760x1440 dpi for prints and copies alike.
