The Dell V725w is similar in most respects to the V525w, but its larger frame includes larger capacities, which should make it a better fit for a busy home, or even a small office. It includes wireless connectivity and mobile printing, can reach speeds of up to 30 pages per minute in color and 35 in black, but buyers should be aware that Dell V725w printer ink can be a little higher than the average.

The V725w is a little larger, and mainly taller, than its V525w cousin. It measures 9.9x18.3x15.9 inches, and weighs around 25 pounds with the Dell V725w printer ink supplies installed. The benefit of its larger size is increased capacities, however, with an input paper capacity of 150 sheets in the main tray, and a secondary multipurpose tray that can hold an additional 50 sheets. The automatic document feeder is also larger, holding up to 50 sheets at a time for rapid scanning.

Setting up the device for wireless sharing is fairly simple, and it even supports WPS configuration for two-button setup with devices that support this protocol. For iOS devices, support for Apple's AirPrint is included, and a special Dell Mobile Print app can be downloaded to Android devices.

The 1200 dpi optical resolution of the scanner creates very sharp digital documents, and OCR software is included for creating editable text. The maximum print resolution of 4800x1200 dpi is impressive, but reviewers note that photo quality is a little below average compared to similar inkjet models.

Since Dell V725w ink cartridges share a design among multiple models, one would expect the prices to be lower. While prices aren't overly high, the 200-page capacity of each Dell V725w ink cartridges translates to a fairly high cost per page.

The Dell V725w is likely worth the upgrade from lower models for buyers who want the extra capacity. Otherwise, speed and output quality are similar in the V525w, at a lower purchase price, which might be better for smaller budgets and lighter workloads.
