The Canon S750 color bubble jet printer is designed for small offices and home users who want to print quality photos but do not need lab-quality results. At 20 ppm for black, text prints fast enough for most low volume needs. Color comes in at a respectable 13 ppm. This is a durable inkjet capable of handling most normal print needs at a very affordable price. Cartridges are available in 5 colors and are priced lower than most in this segment due to the way Canon uses these in many of its models.
Resolution for text printing is a tidy 600 x 600 dpi, which prints smooth, defined letters visible even with small fonts. The color can be up to 2400 x 1200 dpi and will print 4"x6" borderless photos in about 47 seconds. Reasonable desktop size of 11 pounds and 16.9" x 11.6" x7" is easily incorporated into most offices. The 5-color print head is able to use separate cartridges that yield 480 standard black pages and up to 280 color, depending on density. Many types of 8.5" media will work readily in this printer, which also offers A4 printability for larger display prints.
Platforms supported are Windows 95 and up and Mac 10.1 and up, making it usable with a wide array of computers. Though it has a USB connector, it still carries a parallel hookup for older applications. Setup software and a detailed manual are included along with photo enhancement disks.
The reviews by PCWorld.com and Photozine.com both gave positive reviews to this inkjet printer. Each commented on the print quality and nice text quality. The photo capability was said to be pretty good for a printer in this class and price range. A note about difficult feeder attachment said it was no problem as long as the printer was stationary. It was deemed to be a good value.
As in other Canon models, durability, value, and quality results stand out.
