The Canon S600 is a standard color inkjet photo printer. It is compatible with Mac and Windows and offers amateur photographers simple and high quality images and enhancement options. As for speed, the S600 is not outstanding, but still competitive. It can print up to 10 pages per minute when using the color Canon S600 ink and up to 15 in black.

The Think Tank System found in many older inkjet models consists of 4 different colors of printer ink. Each Canon S600 ink cartridge has its own slot and can be replaced individually. If tanks are a burden, try the Phaser 8550 ink printer, which is solid ink sticks. These nozzles eject the Canon S600 ink in 5 picoliter droplets per inch to create an impressive resolution of 2400x1200 dpi. The more nozzles there are, the higher the resolution; and the higher the resolution, the more accurate and precise the images. Fortunately, the Canon S600 ink cartridges have high page yields so they last quite a while.

There are numerous features that make the Canon S600 appealing. There is a built in USB for transferring images and a 32 MB RAM to speed up the process. It is pretty easy to move around, weighing only 15 pounds and measuring 11.2X16.9X6.8 inches. As well as the Advance Microfine Droplet Technology, the S600 has a low ink sensor alert to let consumers know when printer ink is running out. It also comes with excellent software, featuring the ZoomBrowser Ex for uploading files, PhotoRecord for managing prints and PhotoStitch for making panoramic photos.

Even though the Canon S600 is slightly outdated and has been discontinued by Canon, it can be found for less than $100 and is still capable of producing high quality and long lasting color photos.
