The Canon S330 is a sleek and modern looking color photo inkjet printer. It does not take up much desk space, at 15.4x9.8x7.3 inches, and looks good with any office décor. It can print at a quick rate, up to 11 pages per minute using black Canon S330 ink and up to 7.5 pages per minute in color. The manufacturer suggests that it costs about 6 cents a page, which isn't too bad at all.

One of the best features of the S330 is the software package that comes in the box. It has Easy-PhotoPrint for cropping and enhancing, PhotoRecord for organizing and PhotoStitch for printing panorama pictures. It has a user friendly USB interface, although USB cords are sold separately. Plus, it is compatible with Windows and Mac.

This inkjet unit uses a nozzle print head technology to formulate the clear, crisp and accurate color images. The nozzles dispense droplets of Canon S330 ink to create a resolution of 600x600dpi for black and 2400x1200 for color. There are 704 nozzles and only 2 Canon S330 ink cartridges. One cartridge has black printer ink used mainly for black and white pictures and standard text. The other has cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink, which is the core of the beautiful borderless photos the S330 is known for. Replacement Canon S330 ink cartridges are inexpensive and easy to install.

Reviews compare the S330 to the HP Deskjet 3820, which both fall under $100. The quality is similar, but the Canon is much faster. Both are better than any Lexmark printer in that price range. Actually, the total cost of a Canon S330 in a year's time worth of replacement ink and maintenance is lower than any printer. This inkjet unit is perfect for low budget homes and casual photographers.
