Canon MP360 Printer Review
The SmartBase line of color inkjet printers is designed to combine great photo quality with all-in-one features to make it a base of operations for just about any task you can throw at it, and the Canon MP360 (also known as the MP360S) is no exception. It can scan, copy, and print, with printing speeds of up to 18 pages per minute for black and 12 for color. Printer ink costs are minimal, as Canon MP360 ink is very affordable.
The MP360 has a unique design in that the chassis is Z-shaped, sloping backward from the bottom. This gives the machine an interesting look, but doesn't really affect functionality, and some buyers might not particularly like it. Scanning resolutions are impressive, at up to 2400 dpi, which makes it capable of producing very detailed digital copies of anything users put on the tray. Borderless printing is a highlight feature as well, and the device can do multiple common sizes up to A4 media, which is a lot of flexibility for an inkjet.
Canon MP360 ink cartridges are designed to reduce printer ink costs. The large capacities of SmartBase MP360 ink cartridges results in a lower cost per page than average, and many sellers have compatible SmartBase MP360 ink available at a discount over OEMs.
PC Magazine gave the MP360 a rating of 3 out of 5 in their review, and they particularly liked its photo quality and fast speeds. They disliked the lack of faxing and an automatic document feeder, but thought the Canon MP360 ink was very cost-effective.
Overall, the MP360 should appeal mainly to home and small office users on a budget. Its interesting design adds a unique flair, but is not particularly a reason to choose it over other models, but solid performance and good photo quality certainly are.
