Canon MP190 Printer Review

The Canon MP190 inkjet printer is a home printing unit that produces impressive prints over and over again. The inexpensive all-in-one printer's price is around $70. It can print up to 19 pages per minute with black Canon MP190 ink and 15 pages per minute with color ink. With all its features, this tends to be a reliable at-home printer; however, the high price of printer ink may make some lean more towards a unit with HP 45 ink.

This hefty printer weighs 12.8 pounds, and its dimensions are 17.7x13.9x6.7 inches. Though it makes a somewhat large footprint, it ability to print all standard paper sizes, makes its size not much of a problem. Letter, legal, 4"x6", 5"x7", 8"x10" and envelope sized documents can all be created using this product. ID photo and borderless printing are also available. Compatible with Windows and Mac, the PIXMA MP190 inkjet printer is simple to set up and use. The automatic sheet feeder can hold up to 100 pages.

This model uses two Canon MP190 ink cartridges. One is black, which has a resolution of 600x600 dpi. The other is color with a resolution of 4800x1200 dpi. The printer ink is said to have low ink consumption, compared to other color inkjet units. However, the individual Canon MP190 ink cartridges are relatively pricey, meaning if the buyer prints on a regular basis, the printer ink could become an expense quickly.

Consumer reviews of the PIXMA MP160 inkjet printer are mixed. Most either love it or hate it - there really isn't an in-between. Those who love the low consumption of Canon MP190 ink. They also find photo editing to be easy and the tones and colors produced to be sharp. Most comment that the speed is impressive and the printer in general is reliable.

Many who didn't like the printer complained that they had paper feed issues from the beginning. Most, however, were turned off by the costly PIXMA MP160 ink. Xerox 108R00671 ink provides higher capacities and lower cost per page.
