The Canon imageCLASS MF4770n is a solid multifunction device that brings affordable laser printing into the home or small office. It can also scan, fax, and copy, with fast output speeds of up to 24 pages per minute. While it is limited to monochrome output, this also keeps the cost of replacement Canon MF4770n printer toner lower.
The MF4770 is designed to be compact enough for a desktop surface, and could be used as a personal machine, but that doesn't mean it is not designed for multiple users. It includes both USB and ethernet ports, the latter of which can make it available to all computers on the network. It does lack duplexing (for two-sided printing), but those who want this feature could consider the similar MF4570dn model instead.
One of the nice benefits of the MF4770n is the fact that copying and faxing both work in standalone mode, without the need for a PC. When connected to a network, however, most functions can be used from any connected computer. For example, faxes can be received directly to a PC, saving on imageCLASS MF4770n toner, or they can even sent from one, saving multiple trips across the office. A 35-page automatic document feeder and flatbed scanner are both included, and the input paper tray holds a fairly decent capacity of 250 sheets, though it is not upgradeable.
The lower cost of toners compared to inkjet supplies are one of the major benefits of a laser machine. Canon MF4770n toner cartridges provide a large yield of up to 2,100 pages each, for less frequent replacement. The imageCLASS MF4770n toner cartridges are also quite affordably-priced, though compatible Canon MF4770n toner is available at a much lower cost than OEM versions.
Overall, the combination of fast, high-quality laser printing with the compact size of a typical consumer machine makes the Canon MF4770n a valuable choice for a small office. Its low operating costs and solid network support make it a great value for a multi-user environment.

Although the model shown differs in appearance, the process is the same.
To remove the empty cartridge, start by raising the access panel, lifting from the control panel area. Find the small handle to raise the smaller toner panel as well, then look for the Canon MF4770n cartridge and grab its handle to take it out of the machine.
Carefully open the box for the replacement imageCLASS MF4770n toner cartridge and set aside the packing materials and the plastic bag. Before removing the packing tape, rock the cartridge a few times to redistribute the toner inside.
Place a finger in the tape loop and pull to remove the tape from inside the cartridge. Grab the black paper that protects the drum and remove it as well, by pulling in the direction the arrows are pointing.
Slide the new Canon MF4770n cartridge into the opening, lining it up with the guide rails, and lower it down into the machine. Press firmly, then close the smaller toner panel. Then you can carefully lower the access panel down.
You are now ready to resume printing with your Canon imageCLASS MF4770n printer.
